A GLD in the EYFS is a statutory measure of child attainment at the end of Reception, signifying they are well-prepared for Year 1. Children reach GLD by meeting the “expected” level in 12 Early Learning Goals across 5 areas:

  • Communication (Prime Area)
  • Literacy
  • Mathematics
