Our early help offer for families in Bromley

Early help is about supporting families who are struggling with the day-to-day challenges they are facing.

Services are provided by the Council and by our key partners, such as schools, health services and voluntary sector organisations.

To support families and professionals to access the right support, at the right time, from the most suitable agency, the Council has introduced a new contact point, called the Children and Families Hub.

Bromley Children and Families Hub

To support families and professionals to access the right support, at the right time, from the most suitable agency, the Council has introduced a new contact point, called the Children and Families Hub.

The Hub provides services that protect, care for and support the most vulnerable children and young people in the borough.

Who can get support

Most children and young people’s needs will be met through universal services, for example by schools, youth services, GP surgeries as well as from support within the family.

A relatively very small number of children and young people require specialist support from children’s safeguarding and social care. This will include children and young people who are suffering, or likely to suffer, significant harm and those whose development will be significantly impaired without the provision of services.

In Bromley we use our Threshold of Needs to identify the child’s level of need and to inform the multi-agency partnership what services would best meet these needs.
